Harris Springs expands product line and capacity to meet increasing customer demand |
As part of Harris Springs' on going strategy to provide the best possible service to its customers they are adding a number of new generation production machines to their manufacturing plant this year. By doing so, they will be able to be more responsive, provide faster turn-around, offer faster delivery times and, for the first time, be able to offer complex wire shapes as part of the overall spring solution.
The first to arrive will be the latest in wire production technology the Nucoil GX30 from Stride Technical. The very first of its type in the UK!
Incorporating innovative computer technology the Nucoil GX30 has been designed for both fast set up and high-speed production of precision springs and wire shapes with a wire capacity ranging from 1.00mm-3.20mm. Its powerful industrial grade computer and the CNC Software program consign complicated cam design and layout to history.
This will be closely followed by the delivery in mid December of two new Spring Coiling machines. The HIT-8-CNC High-Speed CNC Spring Coiling Machine, the fourth of this type of machine installed at Harris Springs, and a HIT-28-CNC 2-Axis Compression Spring Coiling Machine, another pioneering move for Harris Springs, as this will be the first of this model in the UK. This machine, subject to spring design, is capable of producing springs at up to 375 pieces per minute in wire sizes up to 2.8mm!
Commenting Philip Harris, Managing Director, said
'Increasingly we are finding that customers are seeking suppliers that can offer a one stop solution to their spring needs. Our customers come to us with an expectation that we can solve their spring related problems and do so quickly. That dictates the need for us to continually review our production plant capacity and the spring solutions that we offer. As a result, our investment programme this year has been focused on optimising our ability to respond and our capability to support our customers' total spring requirement. The arrival of these 'state-of-the-art' machines to our production line will put us in the strongest position ever to service our current customers and attract new business in the future.'
